Pros and cons of BJJ Brown Belt Requirements app for iPhone and iPad

BJJ Brown Belt Requirements app good for

As always Professor Roy Dean delivers! This edition is the best volume to date. Blue Belt Requirements was fantastic but each and every new instructional video out does the last (Roy has his work cut out for him for Black Belt Requirements!) and Brown Belt Requirements is in-depth and precise. Roy Dean is clear in his instruction and the videography is fantastic. This is the type of video that will be referred to by BJJ students decades from now.
Roy Deans videos and apps are always extremely well done. His relaxed delivery is as easy to listen to and understand as his smooth, fluid motion is to watch. The high definition video, professional editing and original soundtrack make this and any other Roy Dean app well-worth the price. Something new that I especially liked in this app is the introduction of techniques in related groups. About 3 variations on a technique are performed at normal speed without interruption. After that, each one is described separately in detail.

Some bad moments

I know a lot of techniques, but the key that is missing in my game is stringing together techniques. After a few days of studying these techniques a brown belt told me I exhibited great control all the way through our roll. Also, the part about pressure is invaluable. One of my sparring partners grunted loudly both times when I tried the techniques Dean presented in this app.
Roy Dean is an phenomenal Martial Arts Instructor who gives as much as detail possible while teaching great techniques through a video. All of his and Master Roy Harris apps are without a doubt the best and most useful Martial Arts applications that are available. Period !!
If your a fan of RDA, then your used to the thoughtfulness and superb execution of professor Deans perspective of the gentle art! This is a must. Every shot and lesson is geared towards a purpose. I wish more BJJ instructional were like this one. You will add something to your game after one viewing...
The Content is great and very thorough as usual. Great stuff Roy! I finally am starting to really understand BJJ in a comprehensive way as opposed to a broken up chunky way. I knew I needed that understanding but now I have content to go with the theory. The App itself has a defect in that the menus dont go anywhere but the very beginning of the app. When you click on "top game" it goes to the welcome. if you click "bottom game" it still goes to the welcome etc... The analysis portions go to their videos because they are different altogether, so no problem there. Get this minor problem fixed and we have a 5 star app. I know it goes against what I just said but if techniques were on some kind of sub-menu it would be very helpful when drilling a particular part of the flow. I know it is a philosophy conflict at Brown belt as we are no longer learning "moves" but thought centers and categories as at the purple but its still nice to not be lost looking for that killer move to fix your flow without having to watch the whole 1 hr and 21 mins every time :)
Love app of the the belt videos, have helped me on the long road to black belt. Very informative and well made.
